"Without counsel plans fail, but with advisords they succeed."
--Proverbs 15:22
Dear Colleague in Church Leadership:
For more than 20 years, we have had the distinct privilege of serving as the executive director of the PASTORS NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT CONGRESS. Every January since 1996, a group of priests from all over the country have joined me and our outstanding faculty for an assembly that is both challenging and fulfilling.
More than 3,000 priests have attended during that time. They have been hosted to an event which focuses on ministry, "visioning," creating Lay Leadership and facilitating the important processes of stewardship and development.
Many pastors, over the years, have commented about how this program provided the background, training and experience to help them effectively lead their parishes through the important issues related to development: advancing stewardship, strategic planning, sacrificial giving, endowment, capital campaigns, creating Lay Leaders, the role of boards and committees, public relations, planned giving, etc. -- all in the context of ministry.
We confront the issues of anxiety related to financial issues as well as the involvement of devout, generous, lay people to share leadership through the creation of "Parish Development Councils" to assist you in this ministry.
Please join us this winter in warm, sunny Phoenix AZ, February 9---11, 2022. Just call us at 1-800-426-8198 to register or for any questions you may have.
Phoenix and the Desert Southwest is an appropriate location for this educational experience. The biblical references to the desert and its cleansing of the mind and spirit will hold true during your CONGRESS experience as well. This experience may very well hold the key to the future and financial well-being of your parish community. I look forward to greeting you personally.
Sincerely,
Richard P. Garrigan
Executive Director
P.S. - Perfect time and location--after Advent and before Lent. Join us! Check with your diocesan clergy continuing education about tuition stipends.
The Pastors National Development Congress is designed to meet the ministerial, programmatic, education and financial challenges of today's Catholic parishes. Learn how to broaden the base of financial support through comprehensive development.
Development is not another term for fundraising. The "Ministry of Development" enables people to "develop" their faith through the involvement and utilization of lay talent: work, wealth and wisdom.
